Yeah, and I ended up married to a *shudder* Martinsville grad! I haven't decided yet, though, if 3 kids makes you old, or keeps you young!

Hi Doug. Yep, I'm local, also a South grad, but I would have been 4 on your graduation day. I was class of '96. Looks like (at this point, redistricing not withstanding) I'll be sending my crew of 3 to North, though, so I'm trying to not be overly biased. I figure I can't go wrong by sticking with the Hoosiers!

Awesome. I can't wait for this forum to really hit the ground running. This is a great idea.

Profile Information

About Me:
I've been covering Indiana football for The Herald-Times since Gerry DiNardo was hired and basketball since the early Mike Davis years. We've seen a lot go down over that time.

I'm also a Bloomington native. Some of the first Hoosiers I recall first watching as a youngster were Bootsie White in basketball and Courtney Snyder in football. Anybody remember them?

I attended Ohio University as an undergrad and IU for grad school. After college, I lived in Greenville, S.C. for five years and Indianapolis for a couple of years before returning to Bloomington.

As for my favorite teams these days, it's part of my job to be impartial about the sports teams I cover, but I still root for the Cincinnati Reds (yes, it's painful), Indianapolis Colts and Ohio Bobcats.

Other interests: good beer, bad beer, good journalism, politics, dogs, ethnic restaurants.
