With the Indiana 2007-08 sports calendar winding down, we've put our weekly Thursday Q&A on hiatus until next fall.

But we'd still like to keep the discussion going. Obviously, with recruiting news and the ongoing NCAA investigation, there's still plenty to talk about.

If you have any IU sports questions for Chris Korman or Doug Wilson, please post them here. We'll do our best to give you the at least semi-coherent answers you've come to expect.

what players do we have a realistic chance of getting for basketball out of the 2009 class?

Can you guys please put together a comprehensive bio on the members of the incoming basketball class? Since this year's class is more akin to a football recruiting class in numbers, it would be nice to get to know these guys, and their faces, before the season begins. Thanks!

Guys,
Hope you're having a good summer. I have another in a long series of BTN questions: Has 'the other shoe dropped' and have we seen any details of BTN/Comcast programming plans? Specifically, is Comcast going to offer several games simultaneously like they are on dish, or we going to get only one game at a time, which is going to be bad news if IU plays at the same time as Ohio State or Michigan or Michigan State or Illinois or Wisconsin or ..... well, you get the idea. Probably not as big a deal in basketball season, when schedules are more flexible, but when everyone's football team is playing on Saturday afternoon, I've got a feeling that we're pretty low on the ole' totem pole. Ominously, the IU website proudly announces that the BTN plans to televise three games :Murray State, Ball State, and Illinois.

So, Greenspan's resignation was "Rick's decision," per McRobbie, but we're paying him a full year's salary, almost half a million bucks, for quitting his job?!?! Does anyone know of any other state employee who's paid a severance upon tendering their resignation? This seems rather Sampson-esque, doesn't it? Is this anything but our 3rd forced resignation in less than a year in Assembly Hall (Senderoff, Samson & Greenspan)? Can anyone really tell me with a straight face that Greenspan wasn't getting tossed out the door, one way or another, sooner or later? Is it your opinion that Greenspan would have been allowed/"chosen" to stay on had the committee not upped the ante and added the additional charge? If this was the result of all the pressure, internal and external, for Greenspan's departure, why was it not done BEFORE the committee hearing? Lastly, if this was a case of forced resignation, why in the world would the University's leaders allow him to stick around another 5 months? Did they not consider forming an "AD Search Committee" back in February? Can you guys please add some clarity to this strange unraveling?
BTW- did I not predict this exact scenario about a month ago?

question re: the Memorial Stadium renovation. What is planned for the "other" (South) end zone? I'd heard that both sets of bleachers would eventually be removed, but will they add landscaping around the large scoreboard, or leave the South end as essentially a parking lot, or what?

Have the IU men recruited anyone besides Ben Bizeneh for the cross country team this year? (and the distances in track of course)..
I noticed on Dye-Stat thst the IU women have recruited three runners.
What does recruitment look like in the distances at IU for the coming year?

Chris and Doug,
I'm having major problems in finding a schedule of events for Midnight Madness/Hoosier Hysteria for 2008. I'm getting really concerned that we will be having one or not. I was just wondering if you could do some research and see what you can find out. I would really appreciate it.

Bill,

This was in Saturday's paper and on HTO:

BASKETBALL ANYONE?

RECRUITS ON THE FIELD: Indiana’s three assistant basketball coaches escorted a group of recruits onto the football field just prior to the start of the game Saturday. Though most of the players were prospects for later classes — some were just freshmen in high school — one possible 2009 recruit was impossible to miss. Bawa Maniru, a 6-foot-11, 250 pound post player originally from Ghana, was the tall tree in the middle of the small forest of people. Maniru remains a bit of a mystery as he has played for several different schools and is currently completing a post-grad year at Charis Prep, a school in North Carolina that has had trouble meeting the NCAA’s academic standards. Still, Maniru could become the sixth member to verbally commit to Tom Crean’s 2009 class.
